Content

“Regenerative Medicine is an emerging interdisciplinary field of research and clinical applications focused on the repair, replacement or regeneration of cells, tissues or organs to restore impaired function resulting from any cause” (Greenwood et al. 2006).
Research in this field develops rapidly leading to a steadily growing number of scientific publications that need to be reviewed. Attending a weekly journal club the students will search, present and discuss scientific literature with a focus on stem cell research and tissue engineering. After writing an abstract the students will give a talk on their chosen topic or present it on a poster, write a report on a specific topic, "creative" exercise

Previous knowledge expected

basic knowledge in biotechnology/life science

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After completion of this seminar, students can search for, find, critically read, review, present and discuss (scientifically relevant and also controversial) publications in the field of medical biotechnology.
You can find more details like the schedule or information about exams on the course-page in BOKUonline.
