Lehrinhalt

The course offers insights into ongoing and current research topics in the field of gender and planning. Students are invited to read and discuss key works and concepts on gender in different research areas at BOKU, Institute of Landscape Planning.

Following the principle of VS - Lecture with Exercises, the course is guided by lectures in which key topics are presented to provide the basis for discussion of gender issues in planning. Students actively participate in the discussions and group work and prepare presentations on the lectures and write a short summary on their presentation (~1000 words; 3 pages).
Inhaltliche Voraussetzungen (erwartete Kenntnisse)

The course is intended for Master’s students and for advanced Bachelor’s students in Landscape Planning and Landscape Architecture, Forestry, Mountain Risk Management, Environmental Engineering and Environment and Bio-Resource Management, Foresrty, Agriculture and Biotechnology .
Lehrziel

After completion of this course, students understand the theoretical and methodical background of gender planning and are able to address gender issues in planning processes. Students will be familiar with recent debates and results in the field of gender and planning.
