Sync and Share Online-Storage

Synchronize your data to all your devices, access your data from anywhere, flexible teamwork and collaborative editing - all data resides on BOKU servers.

What is BOKUdrive?

BOKUdrive is a Sync and Share online storage which is available to all members of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences. All data is stored on servers and data centers of the University. Technically, the solution is based on the free software "Seafile".
Users can access their data through a Web interface or synchronize via desktop clients and mobile clients. Seafile offers similar functions as well-known online services, such as Dropbox or Google Drive.

The possibility to collaborate online on Microsoft Office documents online extends the functionality.

The main difference is that Seafile - as it is free software - can be installed on servers and data centers of the University and therefore all data can be stored entirely on servers and data centers of the University.

Changeover to BOKU Single Sign-on (SSO)

What has changed?

  • Access via the web browser
  • Access via Seafile Desktop Syncing Client or Seadrive Client
    • If you were logged in before the changeover, you should continue to be logged in after the changeover. There should therefore be no interruption.
    • You may need to update the client, see: Seafile Client update
If necessary, please contact the EDV-Verantwortliche or ITSG staff in your organizational unit.
    • SSO login on the Desktop Syncing Client is described on the following page: Seafile Desktop Syncing Client with SSO
  • Access via WebDAV
  • Changes to the default e-mail address are now possible without any problems. Permissions are retained even if the address is changed.
  • Changed folder name for Scan2BOKUdrive (BOKUprint multifunctional devices): The folder name no longer contains the BOKU login name, but an internal BOKUdrive ID.
