Jubilee wagon – 150 years BOKU

The official presentation of the jubilee wagon took place on the 23rd of May, 2022 at th Türkenschanze. After more than a week in front of the Exnerhaus, the art piece will be exhibited for visitors in Floridsdorf (Franz-Jonas-Platz 01.06.-10.06., Franklinstrasse 10.06.-20.06., Schlingermarkt 20.06.-23.06.)

Hall for the New Robot Laboratory

The structurally optimised arch-shaped truss, which is the load-bearing structure of the entire hall, was designed based on the robot’s workspace.

Video: Digital Design and Automated Construction

The new course Digital Design and Automated Construction was held for the first time in the Summer Semester 2020.

Photoshooting

We spent some hours together at our robot laboratory in Groß-Enzersdorf for a first common fotoshooting.

Prof. Benjamin Kromoser, special mention at the fib award for outstanding concrete structures

Prof. Benjamin Kromoser, Prof. Johann Kollegger (TU Wien) and Martin Ritt (designkollektiv) received a special mention at the fib award for outstanding concrete structures at the fib congress in Melbourne for the project Manta.

Digital production of highly efficient wood-wood connections

Currently, laminated timber is widely used beside classic sawn timber. The gluing allows for higher part length and involves an advantageous behavior regarding deformations due to shrinkage and lead to better, more regular mechanical properties. The drawback is a low material utilization factor. Starting from a tree trunk, only 25-30 % are part of the final product. Thus, the high-quality product has to be used as efficient as possible.
