The aim of the project is basic research about the optimization of prestressed Carbon fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) reinforced Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) slab elements for a best possible material utilization. In the beginning the building component geometry is optimized. Furthermore the bond behaviour of CFRP reinforcement elements and the prestressing process is investigated. Finally the load bearing behaviour of such elements will be examined in numerical and experimental full scale investigations.

The project deals with experimental investigations on automatically designed and static optimized knot geometries for the construction of free formed frameworks. Especially the performance of 3D printed structures will be adressed. In a fist step the material properties of 3D printed structures will be evaluated in form of basic tests on the compression, tensile and flexural behavior. In a second step the performance of the knots in interaction with wooden framework members will be evaluated.

Numerical methods for the static calculation of slab retention barriers using ONR 24801 "Protective Structures of Torrent - Static and Dynamic Actions" and ONR 24802 "Protective Structures of Torrent Enclosure - Design, Design and Constructive Design" . The goal is the multi-objective optimization of the geometry and the reinforcement layout of two typical locking locks for the load patterns specified in the new standards
