DIGITAL BREEDING

Opening Keynote Speaker: Theodorus Meuwissen, Norwegian University of Life Sciences will speak about genomic selection and beyond.

This international plant breeding symposium will focus on digitalization in plant breeding.

Symposium Motto: Digital Breeding

With 30 lectures and over 80 posters we discuss a range of current topics relevant for crop improvement.

Crop improvement will continue to play a key role in sustainable cropping and help to meet our requirements for high quality food, feed and renewable raw materials. Topics with relevance for the plant breeding community are high density genotyping, third generation sequencing, targeted gene-editing, digital phenotyping, and more – there are a lot of new developments at the doorsteps. While Big Data are now accessible at affordable costs, and genomic selection is becoming of age, still better approaches and tools for data analysis and data interpretation and smart ideas to skillfully use these tools in breeding are needend.
