Since the academic year 2004/05, all study programmes have followed the Bachelor and Master system. Every programme has a classification number allocated, which is called a "Studienkennzahl". "H" is BOKU's classification letter.

Bachelor

The Bachelor programme consists of courses and other requirements which are worth a total of 180 ECTS credits. This is equivalent to studying for 6 semesters. Graduates of a Bachelor programme are awarded the academic title „Bakkalaureus der technischen Wissenschaften“ or „Bakkalaurea der technischen Wissenschaften“, abbreviated as „Bakk. techn.“.

Bachelor programmes

Master

The Master programme consists of courses and other requirements which are worth a total of 120 ECTS credits. This is equivalent to studying for 4 semesters. Graduates of a Master programme are awarded the academic title “Diplom-Ingenieur” (m) or “Diplom-Ingenieurin” (f), abbreviated as “Dipl.-Ing./ Dipl.-Ing.in” or “DI/DIin”.

Attention: A precondition for enrolment in a Master programme is the completion of a Bachelor programme.
