Economic aspects of sheep and goat husbandry and the specifics of the resulting products.
Breeds and their national and international relevance.
Feeding strategies, selection of feedstuffs, anatomical and physiological characteristics, as well as possible adaptation to the use of various feeds (including discussion of current scientific publications).
Selected reproductive issues, husbandry techniques as well as care and hygiene measures.
Management methods for an optimal utilization of performance potential within ecological limits.

To discuss the economic advantages and disadvantages of the use of sheep and goats in agricultural production systems.
To illustrate the position of small ruminants in the ecosystem with regard to feed intake behavior, digestive capacity and their abilities and limitations in terms of adaptation to changing environmental conditions.
To impart the skills to critically judge breeds and crossbreeds as well as their production potential in agriculture, their suitability for landscape cultivation and for hobby animal husbandry.
To explain possible solutions for practical case problems in agricultural small ruminant husbandry (choice of feeds, feeding management, housing, health care).
