The new network for gender competence in architecture landscape planning (GenderArchland), supported by four German-speaking universities (DE - Kiel University of Applied Sciences, CH - Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, AT - University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna; FL - University of Liechtenstein) starts in June.

The former gender_archland of the University of Leibniz Hannover starts as a new network for gender competence in architecture landscape planning (GenderArchland), supported by four German-speaking universities (DE - Kiel University of Applied Sciences, CH - Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, AT - University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna; FL - University of Liechtenstein).

Homepage is now available at www.gender-archland.de.

Who we are
We are a network in the German-speaking area that represents gender perspectives in spatial sciences and the corresponding gender competencies in the planning, designing as well as the engineering sciences. Our core concern is networking, i.e. offering and maintenance, expansion and strengthening a lively network in teaching, research and practice. The common point of reference is this homepage as an information and networking platform with the goal of communication and interaction - in analog as well as digital formats.

What we do
We provide impulses for research and initiate partnerships between science and planning practice. In addition to supporting gender perspectives in spatial research, we are also concerned with strengthening gender perspectives in basic and practice-oriented teaching in the spatial science disciplines at universities and using the links to relevant networks between universities and planning practice as well as to women's networks and professional associations.

How we work
We facilitate exchange and collaboration among active colleagues and promote young researchers, e.g. by involving newly appointed colleagues or PhD workshops. We create a knowledge platform for all those who are interested in planning, designing and creating a gender equitable  environment. Through cooperation with internationally oriented partnerships, networking beyond the German-speaking area is strengthened and innovative teaching formats and new research initiatives are promoted.
