Soil consumption has reached an unacceptable level due to its use for building land and infrastructure. Political and social action is urgently needed. But what is going wrong? Why is soil protection so important for the climate and why does this issue affect us all?
Gernot Stöglehner from the Institute for Spatial Planning, Environmental Planning and Soil Management at the BOKU provides answers to these questions in a new non-fiction book published by Falter-Verlag. It encourages readers to take an active initiative in their own environment and raise awareness of the importance of our soils.
