The aim of training at the ABF-BOKU is to provide an adequate and modern education for the coverage or broadening of your field of work. The ABF-BOKU is with its entire courselist part of the programms Environment ad Bio Resources Management and Environmental Engineering.

The basis for the specific courses in the master programms is the joint bachelor introductory lecture "Waste Management and Waste Disposal". Since the teaching is not customized for a specific program, the participating students are expected to have the fundamental knowledge in natural and technical sciences.

Besides the programs that are primarily made for austrian students, the ABF-BOKU takes its share in international programs as well. In 2011 BOKU introduced the english master program "Water Management and Environmental Engineering" where the ABF-BOKU offers an entire specialisation module taught in english.

To assure a modern and future-orientated education, results from research and practical experience are integrated into the teaching. The annual excursion to waste management companies makes the course-list perfect.

Demands for quality are also made by students, therefore we offer an intensive assistance for the writing of master theses, opportunities for personal contact and meetings and a limited number of seats in some of our courses.

The ABF-BOKU offers besides the actual teaching content also a suitable learning environment. Students are free to use the ABF-Lounge and our library for studying and group project meetings.

The Department for Economics and Social Sciences and the ABF-BOKU offer the opportunity for BOKU students to let themselves certify as Waste Managers. The ABF-BOKU sees itself as a contact- and teaching point for lifelong learning. Examples are the "Introductory for the operating staff of mechanical-biological-plants and composting plants" and the "Composting-skilled worker course" in cooperation with the ÖWAV.

Iternational non-university opportunities for education are for example beeing offered in China, Latin America and South Eastern Europe.
