Make EU trade with Brazil sustainable

In an open-ended letter to the journal Science published today, more than 600 scientists in the EU, including researchers from our Institute of Social Ecology and 300 Brazilian indigenous groups in Brazil, have come together to call on the EU to bring human rights and the environment to the top ongoing trade negotiations with Brazil.

The Open Letter to Science describes the increasing risk of violations of indigenous peoples' rights and deforestation in Brazil. The aim is to find a way to make trade between the EU and Brazil more sustainable.
