Biotechnology Law in Times of COVID-19
The current COVID-19 crisis gives rise to numerous legal and ethical questions. Should standard procedures for the authorization of drugs and vaccines be simplified in times of crisis? Should immunity passports or compulsory vaccination be implemented and what requirements must such plans meet to comply with fundamental rights? Should future treatments and vaccines be a public good? The course “Biotechnology Law” puts a focus on the biotechnological questions and challenges of the COVID-19 crisis and offers insights into a highly dynamic field of law. Despite the hurdles of distance learning, students will have the opportunity to work on and reflect on cutting edge topics.
