Thomas Buocz, BOKU Law, is beginning his research year abroad in September 2019. He will use this research year to optimise his dissertation thesis on "Binary Categories as a Challenge for Innovation Law". During the first half of his research year, he will stay at the Law School of the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. There, he will investigate the concept of legal personhood and compare its application to machines and natural objects. During the second half of his research year, he will do research on the legal aspects of co-creation practices in technological innovation at the ESADE Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, Spain. His research year is being funded with a Marietta Blau Grant by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research.
