Priv.-Doz. Dr. Dragana Damjanovic, LL.M. (Berkeley)

Dragana Damjanovic is Deputy Head of the Institute of Law at BOKU University since March 2018. From 1999 to 2017, she was a lecturer and later assistant professor in the Department of Public Law and Tax Law of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). She held numerous visiting research and teaching positions at institutions, such as the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy and the Salzburg Center of European Union Studies (SCEUS) at the University of Salzburg. Additionally, she worked in an Austrian law firm specialized in the areas of public economic law and public procurement law from 2002 to 2003.

She received her habilitation for Public and European Law for her book on the legal structures of the EU Social Market Economy from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) in 2014. Previously, she studied law at the University of Vienna and the Universidad de Alcalà in Spain (Master and Ph.D. in law), and completed further postgraduate studies (LL.M.) at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.

Her research focuses on public economic law and in particular its societal and ecological aspects. In her publications, she dealt with the regulation of network industries (especially electronic communication and energy law), state aid law, public procurement law, services of general economic interest, social fundamental rights and the social dimension of the EU internal market.
