LECTURING IN VALENCIA - INVITATION TO THE Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenieria Agronomica y del Medio Natural (ETSIAMN) INTERNATIONAL SEMINARS IN LIFE SCIENCES AT THE POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF VALENCIA 2016/2017

ETSIAMN invites guest lecturers  for their next International Seminars in Life Sciences – 2016/2017.

You will find attached the planning of sessions for both the autumn and the spring semester, together with a programme description, a draft Thursday work programme, and an overview of the sessions scheduled for the present academic year 2015/2016.

Your seminar (topic to be choosen by you) will be scheduled for a Thursday afternoon, starting at 16:30. Your audience will be quite international, mainly European students with at least three years of University education in one of the various Life Sciences domains (Agriculture, Biotechnology, Food Tech, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, etc.).

The average number of students in the class is around 50-60. The maximum duration of the seminar is three hours, however the average session takes about 2 hours.

The approach should be rather general, as very deep research or specific approaches might be too difficult for some of the students. We will introduce you to the students at the beginning of the Seminar and then leave you as the only lecturer in the classroom.

Participants from EU countries are expected to obtain STA mobility grants from their home Institutions to cover their travel, accommodation and living expenses. As for ERASMUS+ STA mobility grants it is required to teach a minimum of 8 hours, teachers have to offer additional courses at ETSIAMN.  Therefore, accompanying teaching and non-teaching activities may be scheduled around the Thursday Seminar as for completion of your work programme.

If you are interested in ERASMUS+ STA funding, please check the website  for further information and contact Margarethe Karl-Goodwin.

Help in finding accommodation and a courtesy lunch will be provided by the Seminars' organisation. Attachment 1 Attachment 2 Attachment 3
