To mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) Vienna, in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of the United States of America to the United Nations (Vienna), this human world film festival and Topkino, invites to the Ciné-ONU Vienna screening of the movie “Code Girl”.

Join high school-aged girls from around the world as they try to better their community through technology and collaboration in this thrilling, heartfelt documentary. The steadily growing app market is valued at more than $70 billion and dominated by male developers. The Technovation Challenge aims to change that domination by empowering girls worldwide to develop apps for an international competition. From rural Moldova to urban Brazil to suburban Massachusetts, “Code Girl” follows teams who dream of holding their own in the world’s fastest-growing industry. The winning team gets $10K to complete and release their app, but every girl discovers something valuable along the way.
