Africa-Europe event on higher education collaboration

The conference will be jointly organised by the European Commission, the African Union Commission and four higher education stakeholder organisations. It will highlight the importance of collaboration in higher education between the two continents. The event aims to seek synergies between ongoing initiatives on European and African level. To this end, a poster session will be open for participation in the framework of the conference.

The conference will address the following themes:

  • Higher Education Institutions as job generators – matching skills with labour market requirements
  • Supporting refugees' and IDP’s access to higher education
  • Capacity building and curriculum development through international partnerships and innovations
  • Quality assurance and relevance of study programmes
  • Building skills and capacity in the next generation of university staff
  • The role of higher and vocational education and training in developing knowledge and skills - the case of agri-food transformation

Participation:
The conference takes place at the European Commission, Rue de la Loi 170 (Charlemagne Building), 1000 Brussels. It is addressed to higher education stakeholders, higher education institutions and policy actors from Europe and Africa. Participation is free of charge, but participants are required to pay their own travel and accommodation costs.
