GBS & AEMS Online Summer Schools


Registration deadline for scholarships: 21 June

GBS and AEMS go online! The organizers are strongly committed to bringing you that world class knowledge on sustainable buildings, passive houses, renewable energies, as well as exploring the alternatives to the current economic and monetary systems in GBS-Online and AEMS-Online Summer Programs. By avoiding travel, this year’s edition will also have a much lower carbon footprint, all contributing to a healthier environment and still being that great chance to connect with people from all over the world within an immersive online experience.

Highlights of the GBS-Online 2020 program:

  • Inspiring talks about sustainable architecture, ecological building alternatives, passive house technologies, renewable energy production and integrated urban planning
  • Virtual onsite tours guided by experts demonstrating Vienna’s best practices in low energy housing
  • Unique building simulation workshops (Sefaira and Polysun)
  • Interdisciplinary project work in international groups with dedicated tutorship
  • Completing the summer university still gives you a certificate of 7 ECTS from BOKU University

Highlights of the AEMS-Online 2020 program:
Exciting lectures and exchanges on:

  • How can financial markets serve the broader interests of society rather than to dominate them?
  • What are the solutions to the financial crisis triggered by COVID-19?
  • What are the alternatives to the current economic and monetary system?
  • What role does the economic and financial system play in the global climate crisis?
  • Completing the summer school still gives you a certificate of 5 ECTS from BOKU University
  • Interdisciplinary project work in international groups with guidance from climate expert Helga Kromp-Kolb

More good news and conditions:

  • The registration deadlines have been extended to June 21, 2020 for scholarships.
  • Reduced participation fees down to 990 Euro (costs for eligible scholarship holders remain at 490 Euro)
  • All activities in the program take place in English language and planned during normal hours Central European Time i.e. between 9:00 and 20:00 CET (tba)
