Last Reminder: GCUA Thesis of the Year

Deadline for submission of nominations: 14 October

The Global Challenges University Alliance (GCUA 2030) is proud to announce the GCUA 2030 Thesis of the Year 2019. The award is established to encourage high quality research of relevance for sustainable global development.

The prize sum is 5.000 EUR and the winner will be given the opportunity to present the research in a GCUA 2030 webinar during 2021. Eligible candidates have defended their PhD thesis (related to sustainable development) in 2019 at one of the GCUA 2030 member universities. BOKU can nominate up to three candidates for the prize.

Please note!
The thesis does not have to focus on the SDGs in particular or have the SDGs in the title. It could be research on (almost!) anything but the candidates should elaborate on/find linkages between the objective of their thesis and sustainable development. Even if students have been performing research within a very specific area, the thesis is probably contributing to sustainable development somehow (even if the connection might not always be obvious when standing in the lab studying an enzyme etc).
