Gaining main insights about Intercultural Competence
Intercultural Competence skills & knowledge for working & teaching in an intercultural/diverse world
benefiting from an intercultural (working/teaching) environment
different aspects of culture and identity, differences and challenges
reflecting on behaviour and understanding
increasing awareness of perception and thoughts
learning about ethnocentrism and changing perspectives

Helena Zechmeister, MA
Master degree in Global Studies, where she specialised herself on Intercultural Competence. She was researching about the significance of intercultural competence for an equal relationship in development cooperation. In total she lived about three years in Latinamerica, travelled to more than 30 countries worldwide and has been working in an international environment since 7 years – currently for the international office of SOS children`s villages.
