Barbara Zbiral and Andreas Weber from Institute for Biophysics were awarded with the cover of Microscopy Research and Technique (volume 84, issue 5, 2021).

In such issue, they published the second part of a series of Primers in Microscopy dedicated to the characterization of biological materials with atomic force microscopy (and complementary techniques). In particular, they showed how to measure the mechanical properties of cells with colloidal particles, and which simple theoretical model can be used to fit the obtained data.
