Can scientists be creative? This seminar shows how you can use creative techniques to improve your research and writing process and ultimately your product, the scientific publication.
Content:
- The science of creativity: understanding creativity and why it is important for scientists.
- How is scientific research and writing a creative act?
- What can we learn from artists, writers, engineers and other scientists?
- Loosening the scientific grip: using creativity to find your scientific “story”
- Using your imagination, observation, and critical thinking to inspire (yourself and others).
- Practical strategies that you can use daily to open up your thinking, have fun with your work, solve problems, and ask questions.
Methods:
PowerPoint presentation, discussion, pair and group work, practical creativity and writing exercises.
Group size: max. 12 participants
