The project will be carried out in the Eastern, Central and Western region of the country.
Three main target groups are addressed with this project:
(1) Bhutanese scientists and Bhutanese land use managers as well as high Government officials
(2) Bhutanese students
(3) Bhutanese land users

All the research will be carried out in partnership between the Austrian partners, the Bhutanese Ministry of Agriculture and Forests and local land users and user groups. Bhutanese master and doctoral students will be funded to study at BOKU while carrying out their research in Bhutan within the project framework. The project will work in local partnership with farmers and other relevant stakeholders.
The work is divided into 6 work packages associated with the leading questions of the project. The work packages are linked with each other and carried out by more than one project partner.
