Shear Test on Wood

Shear testing on wood, especially composite materials, presents significant challenges due to the variability in results produced by different methods. In our recent study, we performed shear tests on single-layer Unistrand wood material using a specialized setup to evaluate its mechanical properties. We employed Digital Image Correlation (DIC), a non-contact optical method, to measure deformation, strain, and displacement. By capturing a series of images, DIC tracks the movement of a speckle pattern on the material's surface. Stay tuned for detailed insights into our findings. Our latest study put single-layer Unistrand wood to the test, using a unique setup to assess its mechanical properties.
