On 17 December 2025, various master's programmes focusing on plant health, sustainable agriculture, animal sciences, biodiversity and genetics will be presented. After a presentation of the four master's programmes by lecturers and the introduction of exciting projects, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
The presentation and subsequent networking event with drinks will take place from 2pm to 6pm at the Schwackhöferhaus, seminar room 06, Peter-Jordan-Straße 82, 1180 Vienna.

Phytomedicine

2pm - 3pm

The German-language Master's programme in Phytomedicine provides comprehensive knowledge about the diagnosis, causes and spread of plant damage. Students learn to develop and apply preventive and curative measures to protect plants from pathogens and pests and keep them healthy. The interdisciplinary programme combines aspects of agriculture and forestry, including horticulture, and trains students for responsible positions in the field of sustainable plant protection.

Crop Sciences

3pm - 4pm

The German-language Master's programme in Crop Sciences provides in-depth knowledge of the biology and function of cultivated plants and their cultivation – from molecular processes to agroecological contexts. The focus is on sustainable cultivation systems, crop production strategies and the responsible use of plant resources. The programme provides a sound scientific basis for competently addressing current and future challenges in plant production.

Animal Sciences

4pm - 5pm

The German-language Master's programme in Animal Sciences will turn you into an expert in tomorrow's animal husbandry. You will deepen your knowledge of animal breeding, nutrition and health, and learn how to design sustainable production systems. The focus is on the entire life cycle of animal husbandry – from feeding and husbandry to animal welfare and environmental impacts to agricultural practice in the context of global challenges.

Animal Breeding and Genetics/Animal Biodiversity and Genomics

5pm - 6pm

The international Master's programme in Animal Breeding and Genetics and the English-language Master's programme in Animal Biodiversity and Genomics focus on the development of sustainable breeding programmes for farm animals, fish and pets, providing high-quality training in the field of animal breeding and genetics. What makes this programme special is that you can choose to complete the entire Master's degree at BOKU or study at two of six renowned European universities.
