Award-winning karst research: Roberta Facchinetti has received the “Young Karst Researcher Prize 2026” from the IAH Karst Commission for her outstanding scientific work, which she presented at Eurokarst 2026 in Neuchâtel.

Roberta Facchinetti received the "Young Karst Researcher Prize 2026", presented by the IAH Karst Commission for an excellent study presented at Eurokarst 2026, the biennial European conference on karst hydrogeology, held in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

The award recognized her study entitled “Investigating subsurface flow processes in a high-alpine karst system at Mt. Zugspitze by integrating superconducting gravimetry, hydrological and hydrochemical monitoring data.”

The research was conducted within the G-MONARCH project, which investigates hydrological processes and water storage variations in high-alpine catchments by integrating superconducting gravimetry, snow-hydrological observations and modelling, and karst hydrological approaches.
