Insights from the Universitätstagung Verkehrswesen 2025
At the end of September, our institute’s head Prof. Astrid Gühnemann and one of our PhD students, Franz-Xaver Rupprecht, participated in the Universitätstagung Verkehrswesen 2025 in Duisburg.
The conference began on Sunday evening with workshops where participants discussed the future of mobility and the challenges it entails.
Over the following two days, early-career researchers presented their doctoral projects – ranging from initial ideas to completed dissertations – and exchanged thoughts on current research topics.
A particular highlight was the excursion to RuhrortPlus and the Duisburg harbor, both of which are undergoing an exciting process of urban transformation.
Beyond the academic sessions, the conference provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and establish new connections within the transport research community.
