International research exchange at the institute
In her talk, titled “Designing active transport for different people and places: A context-sensitive approach to equitable infrastructure planning,” she provided well-founded insights into how the built environment and demographic factors influence active mobility behavior in metropolitan, suburban, and rural areas of Australia.
The visit offered an excellent platform to discuss methodological approaches to large-scale mobility surveys, the derivation of behavioral indicators from GPS-based data, and targeted measures to promote sustainable mobility in a direct comparison between Austria and Australia.
The Institute for Transport Studies extends its sincere thanks to Sara Haider for the inspiring professional exchange and the valuable global perspectives she brought to BOKU University.
