18th International NECTAR Conference in Munich

The Institute for Transport Studies (IVE) at BOKU University was represented by a strong delegation at the 18th International NECTAR Conference held last month at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Our researchers presented current findings from their research projects on sustainable urban mobility, spatial orientation, and accessibility across various clusters and sessions:

• Astrid Gühnemann (Authors: Tobias Dürrhammer, Rosa Preißler, Reinhard Hössinger) presented the paper “Assessing the impacts of app-based incentives on travel behaviour and sustainability”, covering the effects of app-based incentives on travel behavior.
• Corinna Mölkner (Authors: Corinna Mölkner, Juliane Stark, Reinhard Hössinger, Yusak Susilo) shared qualitative insights regarding the priorities and concerns of younger generations in Vienna's mobility policy under the title “Urban mobility policy in Vienna: Qualitative insights on younger generations’ priorities and concerns”.
• Georgia Charalampidou (Authors: Georgia Charalampidou, Linda Dörrzapf, Yusak O. Susilo) presented findings from the DREAMS project on local amenities and accessibility in the context of the 15-minute city concept with her contribution “What amenities do people wish to have nearby? Insights from an accessibility survey inspired by the 15-minute city concept”.
• Liting Yuan (Authors: Liting Yuan, Yusak Susilo) introduced the study “From landmarks to cognitive maps: Multimodal evidence on attention, memory, and GPS use in urban wayfinding”, focusing on the connections between orientation, attention, memory, and GPS use in urban spaces.
