At the 2026 Walking and Cycling Summit in Eisenstadt, the Institute for Transport Studies presented key research insights into youth mobility, modal split shifts, and innovative pedestrian traffic signals.

At this year's Walking and Cycling Summit in Eisenstadt, Juliane Stark and Sandra Wegener presented key research contributions from the Institute for Transport Studies (IVE) at BOKU University:

  • EMOJI Project: Investigating independent mobility among young people in rural areas.
  • Eisenstadt Mobility Survey: Presenting the latest findings on modal split shifts and the progress of sustainable transport options since 2013.
  • SafeLight: Testing innovative traffic light signals designed to improve pedestrian attention and crossing safety in Eisenstadt (in collaboration with SWARCO).
