50 years of wood science and 25 years of VHÖ
It is now 50 years since the first wood science-related study programme was launched at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna and 25 years since the associated alumni association was founded. These two anniversaries were celebrated at a ceremony on 17 November 2023 at the UFT in Tulln.
Wood saving our planet
Great film about how sustainable forestry, modern wood technology and efficient use of materials can improve the climate - a BOKU contribution to the European Bioeconomy University.

WoodC.A.R. - Computer Aided Research
With the 4-year research project (budget: 5 million EUR), vehicle components made of wood hybrid materials were developed using computer-aided methods.
Most cited paper
With our article “Technological performance of formaldehyde-free adhesive alternatives for particleboard industry” we rank among the most cited articles of the International Journal of Adhesion and Adhesives within the last years. This comprehensive open access review gives an overview about the technology readiness of adhesive alternatives for the wood panel industry.
Projekt Susbind: Sustainable binder
Within the Susbind project we develop reactive components and formaldehyde free adhesives based on plant carbohydrates for particleboard application. Via our partner Wood K plus (https://wood-kplus.at/) we contribute to the unique Susbind consortium consisting of leading partners from industry and academia.
