Institute of Organic Farming
In Austria, with its high company and area percentage organic farming plays a vital role. It is the mission of the Institute of Organic Farming (IBIO) to contribute substantially to the advancement of organic farming and nutrition through research and teaching. Doing so, we also take its specific systemic nature into account. Disciplinary as well as interdisciplinary results are evaluated based on their effects for the overall system.
The IBIO is distinguished by its interdisciplinary fundamental and applied research in the social sciences and natural sciences. IBIO is a member of the European Network of Organic Agriculture Teachers (ENOAT), a network of active university members who are teaching organic farming and agroecology in European universities and colleges. ENOAT's mission is to foster the improvement of teaching and learning in organic farming and agroecology through sharing information and planing joint activities.
How to find us:
Our Institute is located in the Gregor Mendel House at Gregor Mendel Straße 33, 1180 Vienna (Türkenschanze). The secretariat is on the 3rd floor, the entrance to the institute is next to SR 34 (HS XII).
