The research group focuses on livestock-less / livestock-poor organic farming systems in the Pannonian region against the background of the major challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and the overload of the nitrogen and phosphorus cycle as well as on the actors in organic farming (farmers, consultants, scientists, agricultural companies, municipalities, decision-makers). The guiding principle is that soil fertility is the basis for the health, yield and quality of plants and animals, and therefore also of humans. By closing nutrient cycles, promoting soil fertility, diverse, climate-appropriate crop rotations, intensive intercropping, water-saving tillage methods and the promotion of biodiversity, the aim is to ensure a high level of yield capacity and stability and product quality and to preserve and create ecologically valuable habitats in the agricultural landscape.
