Already as a teenager, I spent most of my free time on a goat farm in our town. There I discovered my love for these stubborn animals and thus my interest in agriculture was awakened.
It is the urgent need to rethink our conventional farm animal husbandry and improve it across the board that drives me: Improvements that address animal welfare, as well as the environmental and climate factors that go along with it.
As a study assistant at the Institute of Livestock Sciences, I have the opportunity to deepen the theory of my studies (agricultural sciences) in the practice of research. My task is to help where my manpower is needed, be it in the evaluation of data from research, during farm visits or in the preparation of teaching.
