International cooperation for sustainable agriculture
Researchers from the James Hutton Institute (UK), Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (CH) and BOKU University investigated the rhizosphere and root characteristics of different barley varieties to identify traits that support plant growth under low nitrogen supply.
A special highlight was the visit of two guest scientists from the University of Copenhagen (DK). They travelled to Vienna especially to learn about our innovative exudate and rhizosphere microbiome sampling approach.
The event was a resounding success and a significant step in fostering international collaboration to advance sustainable cultivation practices.
A video of the experiment is available here.
