New publication on the importance of conservation farming for soil nutrient availability

We are pleased to present our latest publication on conservation farming.

The results of our multi-site field study on a total of 21 farms clearly show that Conservation Farming significantly increases the availability of plant-available and replenishable nutrients compared to conventional farming practices. The positive effects on the organically bound nutrients nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), sulphur (S) and potassium (K) are particularly striking.

A key finding of the study is the role of microbial necromass - a controllable component of soil organic matter - as a key variable in nutrient availability. The results underline the great potential of conservation farming systems for sustainable and long-term viable agricultural production.
