Reinhard Steurer is Associate Professor at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna. He works on the political dimension of the climate crisis. His current research focuses on the political relevance of excuses and symbolic actions in all parts of society.
Reinhard has a Master’s and a Doctoral degree in Political Science from the University of Salzburg/Austria (MA in 1997, Dr in 2001), a Master’s in Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Maryland/USA (2002), and he concluded his Habilitation in Comparative Politics at BOKU in 2013. He has published more than 70 journal articles, book chapters and books, he gave 100+ presentations and even more lectures at four different Universities. His research has been published in high-level scientific journals such as “Policy Sciences” and “Climate Policy”. Reinhard informs about current developments in climate politics on Twitter @R_Steurer and as Scientist for Future he supports civil society organisations such as “Fridays for Future”.
