Project description

thinkport VIENNA is an open mobility laboratory that addresses the challenges of urban logistics and develops comprehensive, long-term solutions. thinkport VIENNA is a neutral, independent and competent point of contact for topics relating to freight logistics in the city of Vienna.   The innovation lab is committed to supporting smart logistics solutions for a liveable city and creating space for sustainable pathways. Logistics is more than just a function in the supply and disposal of urban spaces. Enthusiasm and openness are key to innovation.

Thanks to the commitment of the project partner organizations (BOKU University, Institute of Production Management and Logistics, Port of Vienna & Heavy Pedals), thinkport VIENNA acts as an interface between research, business, city administration and the civil society. The lab supports mutual understanding, professional exchange and provides real test environments in order to transfer theoretical findings and concepts into application. Methods such as stakeholder dialogs, co-creation processes and learning journeys are used for this purpose. Thematically, thinkport VIENNA is dedicated to the topics of sustainable urban freight logistics, low-emission construction logistics & circular economy, energy & inland terminals and green corridors for the long-term establishment of (direct) emission-free transportation.

thinkport VIENNA is funded by the Federal Ministry of Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology.
