Success at the Moot Court Environmental Law 2025:
The joint team from the University of Vienna and BOKU University won first place in the Moot Court Environmental Law 2025. The students took on the role of the applicant and impressed the judges with their legally sound and practical arguments in the mock approval procedure for the Handalm wind farm in Styria.
The winning team received expert support from Prof. Dr. Daniel Ennöckl (BOKU), Assistant Prof. Dr. Stephanie Nitsch (University of Vienna) and Dr. Dieter Altenburger, MSc from the law firm Jarolim Partner Rechtsanwälte GmbH. Two of the winning students are also working as student assistants at the Institute of Law at BOKU - a great success for the Institute as well.
Teams from the University of Linz, WU Vienna and the University of Salzburg also took part in this year's Environmental Law Moot Court. The students took on various roles - from environmental lawyers to representatives of the authorities - and dealt intensively with substantive and procedural issues of public commercial law.
