I. LEWANDOWSKI and G. KAHNT:

Possibilities for the establishment of an ln-vitro-propagationsystem for Miscanthus "Giganteus" by using different parts of the plant as donor-tissue

Summary

Ta establish an In-vitro-propagation system for Miscanthus "Giganteus" the fortning of callus from different parts of the plant was examined. Parts from unernerged inflorescences emitted less browning substances and had a higher rate of reproduction than shoot tips or leaf primordia. 1830 plants were produced by one unemerged inflorescence. The biological prerequisite for a mass propagation by In-vitro-culture is given because the plants regenerate by somatic ernbryogenesis. Key-words: Miscanihus, in-vitro-propagation, inflorescences, reproductionrate, somatic embryogenesis.
