Regression equations for the estimation of the sum of exchangeable cations for the soils of Eastern Austria under agricultural use

Summary

The data from the soil quality network programs of Lower Austria and of the Burgenland were used to obtain multiple regression equations for an estimation of cation exchange capacities from clay and humus contents. The best regressions were obtained when the data were grouped as well according to soil typology as to the pH-values of the soils. A grouping according to soil typology or to the pH-values of soils alone resulted in somewhat weaker regressions.
