Summary

Friedrich HABERLANDT (1826-1878), Carl FRUWIRTH (1862-1930) and Peter RUCKENBAUER (1939-) are renowned members of Vienna plant breeding and plant production with great merits. Their path through life and personality are comparatively described and their scientific achievements and the reward obtained for it are considered in the way of sowing and harvest.
