Congratulations! Main prize for Diversity in Teaching 2025
In the course ‘Food safety and risk management’, a food crisis in a fictitious country was simulated after an introductory lecture part on food safety and risk management. The students took on different stakeholder positions and tried to navigate the crisis together as successfully as possible. The two lecturers paid close attention to including and highlighting the impact of such a food crisis on stakeholders in the global south and other underrepresented groups while creating the materials and during the seminar. This creativity and diligence in holding a course with diverse points of view and realities was able to impress the jury and was rewarded with one of the two main prizes for Diversity in Teaching on the third of June 2026 at the third BOKU Diversity Day. The seminar is planned to be held again in winter term 2026/27.
