Rooted in the BOKU sustainability strategy 2014, the overarching goal of the Doctoral School T2S is to promote and support inter- and transdisciplinary research in the field of sustainable development. Research projects are problem-oriented, address real-world problems and aim at real-world solutions.

Thereby T2S supports BOKU’s responsibility to address the growing societal challenges (‘Third Mission’) and the UN Sustainable Development goals. While covering a broad range of disciplines, theories and methods of inter- and transdisciplinary research will serve as common ground for the doctoral projects as well as the training program.

The Doctoral School Transitions to Sustainability builds on the two successful previous dokNE schools and broadens its geographical scope towards the Global South.
