How to apply


The application procedure is divided into two steps:
First step: Application at the IMaHS-Secretariat All students have to apply first at the International Master in Horticultural Science Secretariat in Bologna, which will forward your application documents to your chosen home university. Detailed information such as deadlines, application documents and scholarship possibilities are to be found on the webpage of the International Master in Horticultural Science Secretariat After your application you will receive an E-Mail of the EM-IMaHS secretariat with all the information according to your application.
Second step: Application at your chosen university After the application at the Secretariat you will receive an additionally e-mail from your chosen university, with further information of the application procedure there.

General Requirements for the application at BOKU

  • Bachelor in Agricultural Sciences
  • Transcript of records
  • English language certificate
  • CV

English language requirements for admission to an English Master programme at BOKU: English language certificates at a level of B2 of the European Reference Framework have to be submitted for the admission.
Equivalent to these certificates are the following exams:

  • BOKU language course (at least of level English III)
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English
  • IELTS-Test results of 6.0 or better
  • TOEFL (paper based 577 or computer-based 233 or 90-91 internet based) 
  • Completion of a study programme that was entirely taught in English
