The new course Digital Design and Automated Construction was held for the first time in the Summer Semester 2020. Apart from deepening their theoretical knowledge, also the practical realization is part of the course. This is achieved by taking part in the whole process - from the design to fabrication to assembly.

In the summer semester of 2021, a pergola made of truss girders was constructed, which colleagues from the civil engineering department are currently greening. No metal fasteners were used in the supporting structure. The individual truss bars were connected to each other using plywood node plates and wooden dowels. An article on this project can be found in the trade magazine Holzbau Austria in issue 4/2021.
