Circularity in action with Kaisbau!
Our researcher Max Klammer is working on the project Kraisbau (www.kraisbau.at) , where one of the main goals is to test the circularity of building elements.

The project is part of the BMIMI flagship project KRAISBAU, where 32 partners from industry, research, and practice join forces to accelerate the transformation towards a sustainable and circular construction sector in Austria. A key focus lies on integrating digital tools and AI to develop scalable solutions for handling the existing building stock. In addition, technical and legal frameworks are being analyzed, while new insights and standards are shared with the entire industry through factsheets, roadmaps, and training programs.

Together with his colleagues from the IGCE, Max collected old bricks from a warehouse in Vienna. He is developing new methods to assess secondary building materials with the support of AI. For this purpose, the field study and material sampling was carried out to generate reliable data for future applications.
