Dr. Markus Drapalik

 

Dr. Markus Drapalik is a Senior Scientist with 14 years of experience in the field of safety and risk sciences. His research focuses on technology assessment of energy technologies, physical modeling, technological risk assessment and radiation protection. Markus is particularly dedicated to the quantification of risks from wind turbines using spatial risk models and the application of technology assessment approaches to promote sustainability and risk mitigation. This experience is used in particular in expert reports on the risk of ice fall from wind turbines. His overarching research goal is to develop a comprehensive methodology for the integrative analysis of current and future technologies.

 

Markus holds a PhD from the BOKU University in Vienna and a Mag. rer. nat in physics from the University of Vienna. His teaching experience includes courses on technology assessment in the field of wind energy and practical seminars on radiation protection.
