Basics of experimental design
one factor designs (systematic design, completely random design, block design, Latin square/rectangle)
two factor designs (fixed/random effects, cross classification, nested designs, two factor block design, split-splot design)
fractional designs (fractional block designs, lattice designs)
Taguchi concept, orthogonal arrays
categorical data (cross tabulation, loglinear models)
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
The students should get a basic knowledge about the important aspects and criteria of experimental design and they should become able to do the latter in an optimal way. A number of appropriate methods to evaluate data from those experiments should help the students to give correct answers to the original problems. Of course students should also become familar with the usage of modern statistical software to handle this analysis.
